Exploding Kittens is a class review game. Students are split into groups and they work to answer a question and recieve randomised points.

In lieu of the traditional introduction of teachers where teachers show pictures and talk at the students, teachers prepare a simple quiz to let the students practice the language they learned in previous years while learning about their teachers for the year. Especially good if the ALT is the same as the previous year.

This is a variation of the "classic" timer game but groups the numbers to increase the odds of students getting points. The particular worksheet is made to practice ordinal numbers.

Students play a janken game and try to get to their opponent's goal.

Point Quiz (Review)
1Template for a review quiz. Students work in groups to answer questions. Correct answers can choose from the prizes below. Some prizes award points, others take them away. I've only used this with JHS but I'm sure it can be adjusted for ES too. Works well with simple questions e.g. fix the error in this sentence, write the missing word.

A popular class game in which students act as zombies and infect each other with a specific English word. Whichever team infects the most students are the winners.

A student draws a picture on their whiteboard within a time limit. Their partners guess what it is.
